Kuang Shi was the name given to the soulless zombies in southern China. The current incarnation of the Kuang Shi is quite similar: political prisoners or repeat offenders subjected to a deep brainwashing process and sentenced to a deferred death sentence—a status very useful to the system. Forensic specialists turn them into resolute soldiers, capable of sacrificing their lives for the one they once despised most: the Emperor.
